Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 May 2026
The short version: we don't run user accounts and we don't keep a database of personal profiles. We use Google Analytics on this website (behind a cookie banner) and PostHog inside the game to understand usage and fix bugs, and Paddle handles your payment when you buy the game. We don't sell your data.
Who we are
Deadly Dispatch is operated by Monochrome Ltd ("Monochrome", "we", "us"), a company registered in Malta. This policy explains what data we process when you visit deadlydispatch.com and when you play the game. For any privacy question you can reach us at support@deadlydispatch.com.
What we collect and why
- Website analytics (Google Analytics). On this website we use Google Analytics 4 to see aggregated, non-identifying usage — pages visited, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use this only to understand traffic and improve the site.
- In-game product analytics (PostHog). Inside the game we use PostHog to record gameplay events and counters — such as sessions played, levels cleared, stars earned and your furthest level — plus crash and error diagnostics. This is used to fix bugs and improve the game. We deliberately keep this narrow: autocapture, session recording and heatmaps are turned off, so only the specific events the game emits are collected. PostHog data is processed on EU infrastructure.
- Purchase data (via Paddle). When you buy the game, our payment provider Paddle acts as the merchant of record and collects the details needed to take payment — typically your name, email address, billing country and payment method. We receive a transaction reference and limited order information from Paddle; we do not receive or store your full card number.
- On-device storage. The game stores some data locally on your device, including your gameplay progress, your analytics preferences, an anonymous analytics identifier, and your purchase entitlement token (a signed token that proves you've unlocked the game). This stays on your device — we don't hold it in a central account database.
What we don't collect
There are no user accounts or passwords on our side, and we don't build a profile of you. We don't collect more than what's described above, and we never sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
Cookies & analytics
On this website we use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2. By default, analytics cookies are denied — nothing is set until you choose Accept on our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are stored. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage (as dd_cookie_consent), not in a cookie; clear your site data to see the banner again and change your mind.
Inside the game there is no separate cookie banner. When you play, PostHog collects the product analytics described above so we can understand how the game performs and where to improve it — for example which levels get completed or where players get stuck, plus crash diagnostics. This is first-party product analytics that we genuinely rely on to run and improve the game: we don't use it for advertising, we don't track you across other sites or apps, and we never sell or share it. It stores an anonymous identifier on your device to recognise repeat sessions, and our legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the game. If you'd rather we didn't, email support@deadlydispatch.com — you can object and ask us to delete any data we can identify as yours.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Consent — for website analytics cookies, given via the cookie banner.
- Performance of a contract — to deliver and run the game you purchased.
- Legitimate interests — for in-game product analytics (PostHog) and to keep the game stable, secure and improving, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — to keep tax and transaction records (handled largely by Paddle as merchant of record).
Who we share data with
We only share data with the service providers that help us run Deadly Dispatch, each acting under their own privacy terms:
- Google Analytics — website analytics — Google's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog — in-game product analytics and error tracking — PostHog's Privacy Policy.
- Paddle — payments and merchant of record — Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — website and game hosting — Vercel's Privacy Policy.
International transfers
Some of these providers (for example Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained in aggregated form for a limited period to track trends. Purchase and transaction records are kept for as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes, largely by Paddle as merchant of record. On-device data stays on your device until you clear it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Maltese data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email support@deadlydispatch.com. Because we don't run accounts, we may ask for information (such as your Paddle order reference) to locate any data that relates to you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).
Children
Deadly Dispatch is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
